The Grayson Farm Breeding program is small and closely monitored. The goal of the breeding program is to produce athletic, talented young horses with 3 correct, lovely gaits and good minds. Warmbloods and Warmblood/TB crosses are bred here for their use as sport horses including Hanovarian, Holsteiner, Wesphallian and Dutch Warmbloods.

The owner and trainer, Kim Schmidt oversees this program personally. All babies are foaled at Grayson and handled daily from birth. Foals that are not sold as youngsters are put into a training program. They are started slowly and carefully with their natural talents taken into consideration. All youngsters are started classically in the art of dressage and hacked out around the farm regularly for the first 2 years under saddle. Those with a talent for jumping will be introduced to jumping both in the ring and on the XC course. At age 4, they are taken out hilltopping and riding with the hounds. A truly all-around, confident young horse is the goal before they are put into serious schooling as a competition horse in whichever discipline they seem suited. The philosophy of Grayson Farm is to discover the talent of a young horse and direct him in that direction where he will be successful and happy.
